took some of the force. I ended up with multiple lacerations to the arm (looks like hamburger, lots of stitches), 3 broken ribs, and a broken scapula (shoulder blade). The good news is that the shoulder break is not in the socket so they don't have to open me up and install things that will set of the detectors at the airport.
No fears, mate - what they install in a broken shoulder is titanium, and won't set off metal detectors. Got 4 of 'em in my right shoulder thanks to an accident on the C&O Canal Towpath.
