This fallacy is vaguely similar to such fallacies as "appeal-to-belief.html"

Examples of Appeal to Popularity

Sounds like the church of modern medicine to me. " Appeal to common practice"
which resembles "Usual and customary care" used by the docs which means if all
the docs treat a disease the same way, even if all the patients die, they get
paid and cannot be sued.

"Appeal to emotion". Why, if you don't let me poison you, you will die. All
medicines are poisonsm, but the doc won't tell you that.
