Did the foot plate bend or did you bend the axle in the hub? You need a
strong beefy oversized axle for a BC wheel. Anything less will bend.
The large BMX axles are 14 mm. Make sure it's a strong one made from
chromoly and not some lesser more bendy type of steel.
I have a hard time seeing how a Bedford BC plate could bend. They're
pretty thick.
