This weekend I did my first tri - it was a short one, so one of the
things I was using it for was to test my apparel. I swam in my bicycle
shorts, and never even thought about it once. I was afraid that having
the wet chamois in my crotch would be uncomfortable during the bike or
the run, but I never even noticed it. I plan on wearing the same thing
for every race I do from here on out.

Hopefully those plans don't include a half or full iron distance race. That
wet chamois will get really old on a 56 or 112 mile bike. An then there's
the run.

Not to gross anyone out, but in my experience if it's a hot day the the
chamois is pretty wet by the time I've been riding my bike for half an
hour anyway.

You're right, though - my plans don't include a half-iron until next
season, or even the season after. But by then I will have gotten to
test it out a couple times at the international distance, and I can
easily do a few training sessions that include biking 50+ miles
starting out in wet shorts, so if it stops working I'll figure
something else out.
