Yep.
Last Saturday I left my car in a shop the other side of town
to get the gas replaced in the air con and as usual there was no
friend around to drive me home, so I took the bike.

Riding home I stopped at the last set of traffic lights, put my foot
on the edge of the footpath, and it slipped.
I fell sideways hitting my knee, sliding on it and ended with body
and bike lying on my leg which was bent awkwardly.

I struggled up, limped round the corner and sat on a garden wall
until I'd recovered my senses and the spectators in the cars had
moved on. I managed to ride slowly home.

Fortunately, I wasnt wearing helmet, gloves etc so I wasnt seen as
a 'proper' mountainbiker.
Unfortunately, I've worn shorts all summer and the hairs have grown
back on my knees. Today ripping the plasters off a hairy knee really
hurt !!
The swelling has mostly gone down, the cuts have scabbed over but
the fiery gravel rash will need another dressing overnight.
I've just been into the old folks day centre helping to serve morning
coffee and to quietly show off my scars (that doesnt change as you
get older).
