An open letter to the interweb on the third week of my new job

Some nutso is going to go Waco and his blog log is going to show
what a wacko he was. Soon we will have blogbots that evaluate
our musing for any latent violence or moral turpitude. Enemy
combatants can be held indefinitely. What enemy combatants?
We don't have any enemy combatants in our secret camps, not
that we have any secret camps. And if we did have secret
camps, we wouldn't hold anyone in them without a hearing
because as much as we dislike it, we still cling to the
quaint notion that some dumb judge should evaluate the
evidence and formally charge the gui^H^H^H^defendent
for his crimes against society. Yeah, I know, the
slippery slope argument is itself on the slippery
slope. That does not prevent things from going
downhill in a hurry though. The weird part is
that sometimes this [censored] happens without even
having to think about it, as if god and the
stars were all lined up and today is just
the day for something to happen. Then
again, maybe it isn't. Maybe life is
just a big fat fscking coincidence.
Maybe things are just about to fly off the handle and never be the same again.
Probably not, though. With mind-numbing normality things are
likely to plod along much as they ever have. We have moved
our self-defined psycotic selves into the era of the blog.
Great. Now I get to *read* about you all.
It isn't pretty. It isn't pretty at all. I am starting to
miss the good old days when there was a publisher between the
idiots and the masses, but I repeat myself.
