Thanks : but I just realised I posted to the wrong group. I will

Campag flat bar shifters are typical Campagnolo high quality, very
precise action, very reliable....good choice.

How did they implement the front shifting? I've only seend pictures
from the rear shifter...

Very much like rapid-fire plus...positional, push to get middle ring,
push again to get large ring, type thing. Not like ERGO at all.

Bummer, I hoped someone would bring a decent non-indexed (non twist)
front shifter back to market...
