Your Ergos will be from an earlier year than 2000 so you'd be best off
with a pre-2001 rear derailleur. (2001 was the year cable pull changed).

2000+ Mirage Ergos levers are composite.

2001+ Mirage Ergo bodies are marked "9 SPEED".

8sp Ergos had pointy hoods (as did very early 9-speed's). Most users find
the bodies with the rounded hoods more comfortable.
