Hope I can help. When your Dr changed the A-V delays what he was doing was
seeing to it that your own intrinsic ventricular reponse would occur as opposed
to a paced ventricular response. It has been found that patients that have dual
pacing for a long period of time have a higher incidence of congestive heart
failure. By allowing for your own conduction to occur they are trying two
elliminate this problem. The reason there are two AV delay settings is that
one in the setting used after an intrinsic atrial event and the other is the AV
delay used after a paced atrial event. Your minimum heart rate change is at
your physician discreation. Again hoping to have you pacing as little as
possible. The sensations you have referred to should be checked. Any time you
feel something unusual it is a good Idea to check in with your cardiologist.
First if you are experiencing an arrhythmia the pacemaker can be interograted
and it can be identified.. Your phsician can best help you to find out whether
the sensations is coming from the pacemaker or not. You should consult him and
have an in office pacer check. Hope I have helped. Good night
