You also have to allow for the mounts on the frame, a different hub and
bolts, and a stronger wheel and fork in some cases. No, there's not
much difference, but V brakes are heavier than the cantilevers they
replaced. Maybe V's were a marketing ploy by Shimano to make discs seem
lighter? ;-)
