Yes they are to a point, it just means you drink a bit more then if
you were drinking plain water. Mostly the "you have to drink water"
is just an old wives tale, like the don't go swimming for at least an
hour after you eat. If there was a problem drinking coke instead of
water you'd have the same problem from simply eating. It's just
different ways of taking in water AND other stuff. Sometimes the
water is mixed with other stuff and sometimes it's not. And a coke is
not a "concentrated sugar solution". Syrup would be.
