I have a 2003 Giant TCR carbon frame.
I'd like to remove the stickers / painted logo's if possible and clear coat the carbon.
Is this possible without harming the carbon. I can sand or chemically remove the stickers / painted logos no problem but I am not sure if this will harm the underlying carbon layup.

of course, it is possible, but i'd recommend that you get in contact with your reputable l.b.s. and let them guide you through the process. from all that i've read, this is not exactly a d.i.y. project or something you'd take to an autobody shop, which is to say, put the sandpaper down and slowly back away from that frame. :)

I hate to pimp other forums, :) but the REAL weight weenies on the Weight Weenies forum do this often, mainly to cut weight.

Here's De Rosa King that turned out pretty good.

Scott, I think.

Here's a paint stripper that's apparently safe for carbon

There's a fancy Time on there that's also been done, but I can't find it
