I say-that is correct and you should have full use of the entire rear cogset n
the middle ring.

Hello Peter,

I have often wondered about what is considered cross chaining when
using the middle ring of the triple. I have a nine speed and I use the
center five cogs with the middle ring. I certainly can use all the cogs
from the center ring and have by accident occasionally. What would you
recommend for cog usage with each of the rings of a triple.

Thanks,
Lincoln

I answer-if the middle ring is aligned with the middle of the cogset. That is,
a line from the middle ring and the middle of the cogset is parallel to the top
tube...Big ring first 6 cogs, small ring biggest six cogs, middle ring all of
the cogs. genearl guiode. If you are cross chaining outside of this, generally
go to another ring up front.
