I had the same problem, so I went to the hardware store and bought a
pair of those ear-muff type guys designed for construction workers.
They are warm and inconpicuous and since they are designed to work with
a hard hat, they go around at the base of my neck and stay out of the
way. Plus they were about $15 CAN... cheap.
