My front shifter won't stay on the large gear, it just drops back onto the small gear when I let go of the shift handle. Can anyone advise me on repairing it?
Have you tried flushing it with WD 40? Before you try any repairs or buy any replacement, give that a shot. (MANY shots, in fact.)
