How save Is it for a female to jog alone? Is city street, college
track, or park jogging trail safer? Sometimes there is not always
someone available to jog with me. I do feel safer early in morning and
in sweats.
Always seem to be a few occasional random assaults
on popular trails/routes in my area. Depends on the
neighborhood, but not always. Certainly is safer if
you run when lots of other runners use the same
trail/route or at midday. I'd say park trails are
the least safe in the big city. Otherwise, greatest
potential risk is predictability, i.e., run the same
time on the same days. If a creep is looking to commit
an assault, this is often what they look for.
Best strategy: run with a partner, a leashed dog, or
learn how to fend off an attacker via self defense
class.
