have ever been able to maintain and i definately notice an increase. To get me this far i totally zone out of reality at 6pm every night , turn my music on , turn the telephones off and everything and just set this time for ME only..no distractions or anything. 3 hours everynight from 6pm to 9pm. and it feels great afterwards.
You lift for three hours every night from 6 to 9 PM?

Is it just me or do u feel u have to be mad or angry when u lift weights? I feel like my mindset has to be like that in order to lift for 3 straight hours.. and lately this has been interfering with my workout. Usually in the past my mentality was confidence and feeling good about myself while working out. Now, its like i feel i have to be piszed off to get going. I guess i just need a little break and find a way to get that "confidence and feeling good about myself" feeling back again.
What are your goals? Does lifting for 20 hours a week work towards you achieving your objectives in life? I don't know what you do for a living or what purpose you have for lifting other than you enjoy it (or hate it, can't quite tell.)

Now that's an interesting word!
Maybe it's the type of music? I listen to 20-21 century classical on Sony Walkman NW-E507 while running, but put it away to lift. Now I've got selection from Lachenmann, Ligeti, Ferneyhough, Hindemith, Schnittke, Holliger.

I lift and do aerobics primarely for the purpose of enjoying it. I'm not as mad as Mike :-) so I keep it to just 1 to 2 hours a day. I'm pretty used to it and I'd feel muscle soreness even if I have just a few days break. Last week I had a big company at my house so I had to skip three days - now all muscles are mildly aching. I've determined that lifting has greater impact on my feeling of well-being than strict aerobics like running, but I need to do both.
