Long flat something that goes from tip to tail, then a level. Be sure
you check the floor first.

Or the same long flat something that goes from top of saddle over the
top tube. measure the distance from this piece to the top tube in
various places along the top tube. For horizontal top tubes only. You
can see Eddy doing this in Sunday in Hell, i think.

I tried using a level but the raised edge on the back of the saddle caused the
nose of the saddle to be raised way too much. I took the suggestion to just
take a wrench along on a ride and try various settings. I still have not found
a saddle that I am really pleased with yet. I am starting to get a good
collection of them though.
