    Maybe they're just being modest? 🙂

    Well, I would assume that all statin drugs then have not been shown to
    prevent heart disease or heart attacks? So, why are we taking statin
    drugs???

    Aspirin is anti-inflamatory and cost a lot less that statins and with far
    less risk of side effects.

    About 15 years ago I accompanied a female
    acquaintance to her doctor's office to
    discuss side effects of a certain drug she
    was on. He pulls out this huge volume and
    begins to read of some of the side effects of
    and adverse reactions to aspirin, implying
    that aspirin is, by far, the worst.

    (By the way, that doctor, though a very nice
    human being, lost his license for a while
    because of the way he was dealing with
    psychotropic drugs. Wonder, who might have
    put him up to inappropriate prescribing
    methods?)

    A few years ago my doctor suggested the
    anti-smoking drug welbutin or something like
    that. Went to the internet. The first 'hit'
    had a guy turning psychotic on this drug.
    Told my doctor on the next visit that I had
    read this horror story about that drug. He
    replied, "I could tell you horror stories
    about aspirin."

    So, the question is, are doctors conditioned
    to think that aspirin is the most dangerous
    drug in the world? I wonder....
