Overtraining for a recreational rider? Is that possible?

Yes it is. I ride about 16.000 to 17.000 km a year. Sometimes I ride with
amateurs here and I ride more often than I should at 90-100% of my max.

    Greetings, Derk

    Greetings, Derk

To become overtrained you have to train. To train you have to have a
goal otherwise you just ride a lot (too much spare time?). If you just
ride a lot it is not a big deal if you have some bad days. If you can't
handle that slow down a bit on your miles. For instance ride every other
day. That's what I do. If you can handle that well then it is something
between your ears... It's simple you don't need some fancy equipment for
    that.
If you are a pro rider or a amateur who have to perform then you have to
worry about overtraining. We, rerceational riders just take it easy for
    a couple of days.
