  1. 1. Edgar Felix Path from Manasquan to Farmingdale. (About 3.5 miles
each way) One tricky road crossing but the Allenwood General Store
    nearby is worth it!

    2. Henry Hudson Trail from Aberdeen to Atlantic Highlands (About 9
miles each way). Was an old railroad track so unfortunately numerous
street crossings. Still, nice ride, absolutely flat!

    3. Manasquan Reservoir (about 5 mile loop). Hard-packed dirt but I've
done it on a hybrid with no problem.

Henry Hudson Trail "southern extension" is now open from Freehold to
    Marlboro....see

for more information. Minimal street crossings enroute, and majority of
them are very quiet sidestreets with little traffic. Very scenic, and
basically too new to be busy.

All of Diana's suggestions are good ones. You & your daughter will have
a fun ride, whichever you choose (or better yet ---- ride on all of them :-)
