Since I moved last year, I have been going to various clubs' rides, some
with my old club, others with more local clubs. There is a _huge_
difference between what one club calls a "B" ride and what another club
does. My old club (BCP, Bicycle club of Philadelphia) is on the slower
end of the scale. The other clubs I ride with now have a faster notion
of what "B" represents (those are Central Bucks Bike Club and the Lehigh
Wheelmen). Oddly, though, their C rides are all about the same.
The Lehigh Wheelmen categorize rides by average speed rather than letter
grades, though there is an understanding. Certainly your numbers are
higher than their categories (B=14-16, C=12-14 average, etc.), but then we
don't have any flat terrain here.
