  1. I recently sprang for a Hope QR seat post clamp, because the twisting
thing was annoying me. MuniAddict recommended it, but they are
particularly expensive in the US at the moment ($25 + ship).

    It's a 28.6mm for a Torker LX 24, with a 25.4mm seat post.

My user report is: "Worth every penny". It has a really satisfying
clamp down, and holds the post steady if you're playing to get the
right height, or rock solid if you turn the thumbscrew by another half
    revolution.

"Into the Blue" - I can't help noticing that you look like Sylvester
Stallone in that picture - what were you doing to be able to 'spang'
the clamp? I draw the line at anything tougher than my gloved palm to
    push it ....

It was my own silly fault for eating a can of spinach beforehand.

It's not Sylvester Stallone, it's Bruce Campbell - hero of idiots
everywhere and S-Mart's employee of the month ("Shop smart, shop
    ESS-Mart!"😉.

And welcome to the fora Karl.

  3. For the first problem the seatpost twisting in relation to the frame.
The best solution is to roughen the surfaces. Try using a file or emory
paper to scratch the surfaces of the seatpost and the inner part of the
frame neck. The current KH or KoXX double bolt seatclamps are very
    good.

The Seatpost post to silver top connection is not the best. Kris knows
about it but I have never had a problem with it. I only weigh 62kg. I
am sure that heavier people do destroy that connection. You did the
best possible without buying a new seatpost.

  5. LOL - I didn't know who Bruce Campbell was, and I really thought that
pic was "Into the Blue" - I thought he was a tough-looking Welshman
holding onto a tree whilst sitting on his cycle.....

If I made all the rules, false avatars would be outlawed. But then
again, doing bad things to sheep is outlawed in Wales, but the sheep
    don't all feel safe.
