I have a Shogun trailbreaker hardtail mountain bike that I bought around
about 2 years ago. It came with acera stuff on it which seemed to
function okay. I have probably notched up around 4000km on it (rough
guess) without any hassles. Only had to replace the chain and cassette.
Then a couple of months ago I decided I wanted a single-speed so things
got removed big time....but yeah,no complaints.
From what I can see, Shoguns are basically just standard taiwanese
Al-alloy frames that are built nice and work well. You will get the same
frame on just about any entry-level mtb.
