This is going to close from 10 April for 6 months. Read the notice at
Stockley Bridge on my way down from Styhead last week. Re-directions are
shown as via Styhead Tarn.

Did you notice whether it will actually be closed for the full 6 months?
Or just at certain times during that 6 months when work is taking place?

It's quite common for local authority legal departments to make an order
that *permits* them to close a path/road for quite a long time, when in
fact it won't be closed all the time. This then gives them flexibility
if the work takes longer than expected, or if they can't predict in
advance which periods they will need to close it.

It appeared to indicate the path would be closed for the 6 months.

The notice was similar to the planning application notice posted outside
properties ... very official looking. It also showed a map with the closed
path and alternative path via Styhead.
