I dont know what he calls it. Nik Caffroy does this trick where he jumps
a stair case, and pulls the seat out mid air then puts it back under
    before he lands.

  4. Wait a sec... I thought Mike said that the seat whip was when you just
fulled your seat out in front and then placed it back in. If that's the
seat whip then... I dunno. I thought what you did was the uni-flip. Ima
    getting confused.

  5. Ok i have a few more questions about street. Has anyone tried to
footplant off a handrail because i was thinkin how cool that would be
to footplant then hop down a stairset but i bet it would be pretty
difficult to get the heith needed and it would be pretty slippery. Also
can anyone do no footers down stair sets or gaps because if so how are
you able to do it without the tire spinning?

*I have been trying to learn a trick i have never seen before. It's
when you hop in mid air pull out the seat, thus in seat out position
then push it back in which is the hard part due to kh saddle
    fatness!
    Ben *

Ive been doing that for a while, i use it to get a bit more height in to
rails... i got a KH saddle... try dropping your seat a bit, and going a
    bit more bow legged...
also if you hook the pedals and push back like bunny hopping a bike you
can get an extra 8" or so out of your hop
when youve got it you can reach behind you with your off hand (the one
not gripping the seat) and do a tyre grab on the back of the tyre...
im trying to do it no footed too...
I can do no footers down stairs... ive not had a problem with the wheel
spinning cos you stop the wheel dead to get extra leverage into your
jump, by locking your back leg...
ill give the foot plant ago...
why arent all you guys filming this and sending it to me??

What do you mean because i know how u pause before you do it to keep the
wheell from spinning but there goes all your momentum to hop a set so
how do u not lose the momentum and still keep the wheel from spinnin.

*Im trying to think what street tricks have been performed so far so
lets make a list, please add.*

Please define what a street trick is. How are they different from
flatland/freestyle/standard skill tricks? We have a huge list of those,
that come with descriptions of each so they're fairly easy to
    understand.

The whole skate-oriented area of tricks is relatively new, and so far
nobody is documenting names and terminology so it's hard to know what
the various terms mean. Especially to us non-skaters/BMXers. I hope
someone will take an interest in making lists of these tricks, with
descriptions so everyone can know what they're talking about.

But mostly, I guess here I'm interested in how people consider "street"
to be different from previously existing forms of tricks.

  13. crank flip - you flip the wheel forwards or backwards while your feet
come off the pedals the wheel makes a complete rotation before landing
    back onto it.

foot plant - You take 1 of your feet off the pedals plant it onto an
object while your other foot stays on the pedals and the foot on the
object springs off and you put it back onto the pedals while in the
    air.

footplant to crankflip - look above, you footplant then with your other
thats on the pedals you give a little push to swing the wheel then when
the wheel has made its rotation you spring off and put your other foot
    back on in the air.

tire grab - reach down and touch the tire.
shifty- you turn the wheel 90 degrees in either dircection and whip it
    back

1 footer - I think you can figure this 1 out you take 1 foot off in the
air and bring it back in the air .

no footer - you take both feet off but in order to make it so the wheel
doesnt spin you kinda have to give it a slight pause tthen hop up and
    take both feet off.

1 footer tire grab- A 1 footer and you reach down and grab the tire. You
usually have to hop a little but higher to touch the tire then a
    standard 1 footer.

    no footer tire grab-

    crank slide

    pedal slide

    all the spins ie 360

    unispins,

    unispins down drops

half rev- You pedal a half revolution in the air
full rev - You pedal a full revolution in the air

180 half rev - You 180 while pedalling half a revolution in the air.

180 full rev You 180 while pedaling a full revolution in the air

360 half rev -you 360 whilepedaling a halfrotation in the air.
360 rev- You 360 while pedaling a full revolution in the air.
    foot plant 180 in 180 out -
    foot plant 180 in
    foot plant to grind -

  14. So for now, a working definition of Street Freestyle can be that it

  17. My idea with Street Freestyle would be to replace the currently existing
Open-X event. Though this one worked fairly well at Unicon XII, it
really needs a different venue to flourish.

I haven't thought about judging details yet, but they will be similar to
what we have for Freestyle and Open-X. I need to talk with some other
riders to get more ideas. Please chime in!

That's the basic idea. But you need a set of judging criteria so both
the judges and competitors know what's expected of a good performance.
Also you need a skate park or similar. So we will have to at least start
out with something that's flexible enough to allow for widely varying
    "terrain" for each competition.

In time, we should come up with some minimum requirements of
standardized props to be provided, so riders will know they can show off
    certain moves.
