Yeurgh, Google seems to have lost the ability to quote or thread ...
and a real newsreader requires having a computer instead of a net.bar

I neither destroy (beyond repair) enough stuff nor have enough geekery
that I want to buy (and can afford) to make buying stuff a sufficient
excuse for going to the bike shop. Have to come up with other reasons
like borrowing tools.

I built (most of) my first wheel today. The mechanic teaching me got
hungry and decided that I'd done enough for one session and he was
going to finish it so everyone could go to dinner. But I got to take
the hub and spokes off the old rim and lace it to the new rim and put
it on the wheel truing stand before he took it away from me.
