Greetings rec.runners! Please tell us about your training week and goals.

    sunday alternate walk/run 1 mile = 5 walking miles, 4 running miles

    tuesday 8.5 miles easy

    thursday 10.5 miles (10:16 average, 1h48min)
loop course with 3 one mile repeats (8:40, 8:19 (tooo
fast!), 8:35) divided by 1.5 mile recoveries

    saturday 10.5 miles (10:08, 1h 47 min) easy long-ish run

33 running miles, 5 walking miles = 38 miles total volume

it's funny, thursday and saturday i managed to run 10.5 miles in almost
exactly the same time even though pacing strategies were completely
different for both runs. 10:15 must be my perfect pace (insert rolley
    eyes here)

my knee has been feeling ok all week until the last mile of saturday's
run, and this morning it hurts a little, so maybe a little too much
running at the end of the week, back to babying it today.

looking forward to reading a few race reports from other rec.runners 🙂

March 14th and March 17th I ran 7 hilly miles in exactly 55:23.

The run on the 14th had a higher average (3bpm) and max (3bpm) heart
rate than the run on the 16th too.

    A solid week for you!
Are you wearing a knee brace during runs?
I am past my original injury, but I somehow started
straining my tendons on the side of the knee.
Wearing a knee brace during long runs has been a great help.

Wearing a knee brace during long runs has been a great help.

i'm not wearing one now, although in the past when i was skating my left
knee was weak and i had to wrap it for almost two years (!!!) before it
felt strong enough to go without.

i'm not sure how i hurt my knee, so i don't know if a brace would help
or not. it was a weird very sharp and stabbing pain, not like any injury
i've had before, and made me think i actually tore something or did some
kinda damage to the cartilage, but i have to admit it really could be
anything, i'm not really good at diagnosing this stuff 🙂 but since my
knee seems to be getting better as long as i don't run up hill, i don't
want to mess with it. if it starts to degenerate, i'll see if something
like a brace could help with support- i'm glad it worked for you, btw!
it's such a relief to find something simple like that that actually
    helps, i know 🙂

i have been taking glucosamine on the off chance that i did damage the
cartilage, but yesterday i was so tired in the morning that i caught
myself about to take my dog's prednisone instead of the glucosamine
supplement, lol, and now i'm wonderin how often i've done that before
    without catching the error.
