I wonder just how surprised Andy would be if he stood at that Gate and were
told "Depart from me, I know you not!" as were the hypocrites in Luke
    13:23 -29?

The parable of the narrow door is not about hypocrisy but about those
who would reject that Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John
14:6). That He is the narrow door to the Father, Who is in Heaven. Such
folks believe that they will receive salvation through their own "good"
works rather than through accepting Christ as their personal Lord and
    Savior thereby being "born again."

Lord Jesus teaches from John 3:

5Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of
God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to
flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be
surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows
wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it
comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the
    Spirit.”

    Quoted message said:

    There were many who were similarly smug who just didn't get it;

There are many who are unable to discern the truth independent of
whether they are smug or not.

    Quoted message said:

that being a Christian was much more than lip service and self-righteous
    proclamations.

In truth, the public announcement of one's personal choice to accept
Christ as one's personal Lord and Savior is a God-righteous proclamation
    rather than a self-righteous one.

It seems that self-worshippers have considerable difficulty in
    distinguishing God from self.

    Quoted message said:

Satan can quote the Bible better than any Christian,

Actually, he misquotes the Bible because he has fallen away from God's
Word. For this reason, he is easily defeated by Christ and all who walk
    with Him.

    Quoted message said:

    and
Andrew's hollow sound eerily similar to Satan's scriptural challenges to
Jesus while He was in the wilderness 40 days and nights.

It seems you have me confused with Pastorio who has misquoted the Bible.

    Quoted message said:

    Jesus said that
"if I be lifted up I will draw all men unt me." How many has Andrew drawn
to Him with his annoying, rulebreaking posts?

It seems you now have me confused with Lord Jesus. Truly, I am a mere
servant and my Lord has me here to inform. Please consider yourself
    duly informed.

My Lord has reassured me "This is why I told you that no one can come to
me unless the Father has enabled him" (John 6:65). Though many have
turned back, it remains my choice to continue my walk with Him.

    Quoted message said:

How many has he turned away
    from Him?

Those who turn away do so of their own free will and because the Father
has not enabled them (John 6:65).

    Quoted message said:

    Many more, I daresay.

Lord Christ is "the narrow door" through which only a few will be able
    to pass.

    Quoted message said:

The sad part is, the fool probably really
believes that he is doing right.

It remains my choice to continue my walk with Christ and learn from Him.

    Quoted message said:

The fall will be a hard one for him when
    it comes.

Fyi, coveting is a sin. You are certainly welcome to join in walking
with Christ instead of coveting this.

    Peter

You will remain in my prayers, dear Peter, whom I love, in Lord Christ's
    holy name.

May you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that
you too will have eternal life and the unimaginable riches of His
    infinite kingdom.

    Here's how:

Please note that God truly made this special link describing that He is
the great "I am" and that His message is as simple as the number 2 which
is a number between 1 to 9 and reminds us of His 2 commandments, the 2
arms of the cross, the 2nd part of the Trinity, the 2 finger sign of the
Prince of Peace [who remains *V*ictorious over death and satan], and the
2PD Approach. Let it not ever be written that Christ did not make His
presence known here on Usenet :-)

Also, note that Exodus 16:16 continues to remind us that 16 oz plus 16
oz makes 2 pounds, which is "a certain measure of weight," which is what
    "omer" literally means in Hebrew.

Do you have any idea how crazy you sound to normal people, Andy?

The untruthful and godless are thankfully not the norm in the U.S.,
    Gary.

More Chung non sequitur. In answer to your question, no, he has no

OH, right. I keep forgetting your apparently infinite capacity for
    schizophrenic, almost-meaning, aphoristic pronouncements.

But what do we learn when a world-class non sequitur is justified by
yet another non sequitur? I discern that we learn about mental
disturbance and OCD Scrupulosity. I discern that the mind that
conceives of these contentless exercises has a desperate need to

Also, note that Exodus 16:16 continues to remind us that 16 oz plus 16

    "omer" literally means in Hebrew.

Wow. What logical and brilliant writing. So clear. So useful. So rich
    a demented non sequitur.

    Nothing new.

    Bob

Truth tends to confound the untruthful.

I discern that the mind that
conceives of these contentless exercises has a desperate need to
withstand all the sneers, condemnations, rebuttals it seems to
deliberately invite. Not merely withstand, triumph over - a zero-sum
game. It's like that schoolyard idiot who wants to fight with everyone
and loses very often. But still claims victory and acts as though
he's still in the game. Like the Monty Python knight at the bridge.

Dressing yourself in mismatched, unwisely picked and chosen raiment of
the bible still leaves you intellectually and spiritually naked. Fools
are fools no matter what they cloak themselves in.

Zee will likely ask about your use of statins soon.

Meanwhile, you will be in my prayers, dear Bob, whom I love, in Christ's
    name.

May you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that
you too will have eternal life and the limitlessly interesting riches of
    His everlasting kingdom.

More Chung non sequitur. In answer to your question, no, he has no
idea how crazy he proves himself to be.

Truth tends to have this effect on the untruthful.

<LOL> I think that means that driving an ass means to stand behind it as
it goes. But with Chung, you only have to be in the neighborhood. I
wonder if he's contributing to the hole in the ozone layer with all that
    "wind."

    Bob (also no relation)

It's not often that one finds 2 triple entendres ("ass" and "wind"😉 in

    must apply.

And some of them are profound. ;-)

    Observation is not judgment.

You cannot observe "the lack of truth" in my heart...it's clearly a
judgement you've made based on my posts, rather than an empirical
observation. Likewise, I would not state that I had "observed" you to be
unbalanced....but I could state that based on your posting history you seem
to meet the criteria for that designation.

If you are truly unable to discern the difference between an observation and
