As all bikeists are good, would this include the guy that was riding
down the wrong side of the unlit NSL road at night with no lights on
and dark clothing that I had to swerve (at 40mph) to avoid last night?

I think in that case it would only apply if it interrupted your phone
call and made you drop your toblerone into your coffee.

Isn't it good to see how soon we can all get back to normal business in
the group despite terrorism? Maureen Lipman has an interesting article
which includes a section on road rage in today's Guardian:-

Was our man in the driving seat upset? Was he shocked by the near miss?
Was he concerned for the pedestrian's frailty? Was he hellfire!

His face went maroon. "He hit my effin' car!" He threw open the
driver's door, murder in his eyes. "Don't you touch my effin' car you
    effin' ..."

"Hey, hey, hey," I called out. "Cool down, will you? He's not a young
man and you nearly hit him!"

"There's an effin' zebra crossing just there," he screamed. "He
shouldn't be in the effin' road in the effin' first place!"

I'd rather give in to Doug than a bunch of "terrorists". To be honest
the only terror I felt today was the fear of neighbours being cancelled.
