Yes, a wander along the footpaths and bridleways of West Sussex today.
Clare and I started out from West Marden and headed along tracks to Up
Marden, a smaller village than West Marden. Heading southwards, we made our
way over more fields and through woods to arrive at Walderton Village. Very
quaint village below Kingley Vale, a few houses with one pub. The final leg
was crossing above Watergate Hangar as we returned north, eventually
dropping down through the woods. It was then a short walk back over fields
to the car at West Marden.
Total distance about 8.5 miles.
Well, not sure about the rest of the country, but today in the south the
weather has been brilliant. Plenty of sunshine, little wind and a few
clouds gracing the sky. Still good enough to be out in shorts; the one
mistake I did make was wearing a long-sleeved top. Got a little warm in the
sun. What a day though!
