Now Vandy is telling people how they PERCIEVE the outside world. Maybe you
can't, but I, as a roadie, MUST be aware of my surroundings at ALL TIMES.
If I don't, one of those damn SUV's will take me out.

Hey Chris Foster, you g.d. grunt marine, it is in really bad taste to mix
**** and sex. Go with one or the other. They are both rich in allusions and
only a greedy pig would feel the need to resort to both. Your ISP is likely
to cancel your service if you go with too much sex, so **** is safer from
that point of view.

Chris Foster is just *****ing - period! He does this because he is one
himself, although of the male variety. This is a rare breed, but not
unknown. They are not homos, but act like them in many ways. They go around
saying things like "blow me." They are neither men nor women, but
in-betweens. All very confusing to say the least. He claims to have been in
the marines and to be an electrical engineer, so why does he behave like a
*****ing nanny on these newsgroups? Yea, that is the question!

Vandeman is right as rain as usual. It is IMPOSSIBLE to take in your
surroundings when you are trying to negotiate a hiking trail on a mountain
bike. IMPOSSIBLE! Thus spake Zarathustra!

See your freaking previous post where you go on and on about wanting to get
blowed. God, what an idiot!

And now this former grunt Marine wants to talk about **** and turds and
smells. Go figure!

Ph.D.s in electrical engineering anyone?

Mike,
I am a roadie, that means I ride a road bike on the roads, everyday.

Cars, trucks, and SUV's are also on the roads.

May I ask, how i can ride without being around SUV's.

I see Vandy is the one doing the cross posting.

I'm not afraid to discuss anything. But can we do it intelligently. If
you come back with one of your classic lines like "Mountain bikers aren't
smart enough to discuss anything intelligently", then I will know it is
you who is afraid to discuss it.

So, please tell me, here, in this form the harm that mountain biking
does. If you reply with "See my website" that is not a discussion, and
once a gain I will see that it is you who is afraid to discuss it.

One glance at a mountain bike, with its rugged build and knobby tires,
will tell you that it's up to no good. It "says", nonverbally, but
loudly and clearly, that the rough treatment of natural areas is okay.
Of course it's NOT okay! Mountain bikes are built tough because normal
bikes can't take the pounding they would get on trails. But, by
Newton's third law of physics, the pounding they receive is IDENTICAL
to the pounding they apply to the trail (and any roots, plants, or
animals run over). Since I was a child in the Boy Scouts, I was taught
to practice mimimal-impact recreation. Mountain biking is NOT
low-impact recreation. It accelerates erosion, creates V-shaped ruts,
kills small animals and plants on and next to the trail, extends
humans' reach into wildlands, and drives wildlife and other trail
users out of the parks. What's good about THAT?

I can't believe you can be so ignorant! Ride the back (residential)
roads, where there's hardly any traffic. Only a fool would ride a bike
in heavy traffic. It's bad for your health.

Another trick is to pretend that you are semi-out-of-control at all
times (by wobbling and appearing not to pay attention). It scares
drivers to death, and causes them to slow down (pull to the right
before they get close).

I am working on creating wildlife habitat that is off-limits to
humans ("pure habitat"). Want to help? (I spent the previous 8
years fighting auto dependence and road construction.)

Mike was deprived of Bugs Bunny as a nerdy child! Explains SO much...
