rear Der rebuild Campy record 8sp with sach?, and a quest for thumb buttons

im riding a 8sp record group and the rear der has developed slop"play" not
allowing a crisp gear selection. what can be done to fix this problem? i have
a sach new success rear der that is a paper weight i heard that the sach and
campy record 8sp is identical or just abouts.. i was thinking perhaps swap out
the bushings or piviot bolts.. also my 8sp ergo need a rebuild every thing is
sweet execpt the thumb buttons.. where can i find 8sp ergo thumb button
replacements?

Overhaul the levers, replace the rear der with any Campagnolo rear der, any
one, even 10s one from 2004, w/o modification it will work great.

Sachs is not compatible. It is compatible with shimano STI.

Oil the pivot and spring of the thumb lever
Get a competent mechanic to look at your system. It's most
likely worn ergo springs ($10), not the changer.
Did you measure chain wear?
