I'm very new to cycling and taking care of a road bike. I noticed that when I try to shift to the next biggest cog the chain doesnt go anywhere, it just stays on the first cog. I then have to shift once again just go to on the second cog. That continues until i can't fully get onto my last cog. The chain gets halfway onto the last cog but jumps back down. Thanks in advance.

(Is there a guide on how to maintain your road bike around here>)
