I just purchased a 2004 Specialized Sequoia that I will be using for long distance riding (I do the CANDISC each summer). It has lugs for a rear rack, but it appears that standard racks do not fit. I ordered a rack from REI, but I cannot mount it.
Does anyone know what rack will fit without extensive modifications?

I know this response is kind of late - but I just noticed the thread. I hope you got something worked out, but thought I'd add my experience.
I have the same bike and went with a Topeak Explorer MTX rack because I had a Topeak trunk bag that would slide onto it. I also got the rack from REI but had no problems with the mounting. I've got the medium side Sequoia - maybe other sizes don't match up as well.

Yes, thank you it does help.
I went with a Topeak beam rack (I also like the trunk rack feature), but I may get a Topeak Explorer rack next season.
