The "most delicious chicken" thread reminded me of these. They're
NOT Buffalo wings, and I'm sure the mention of ranch dressing is
going to put a few folks off, but they're really quite good. AAMOF,
I think I'll make some this coming Sunday. This is the hotter version,
which DH prefers. I usually make two half batches of sauce, one as
shown here, one with half as much hot pepper sauce:
Ranch Hot Wings
12 chicken wings, cut up (remove tips if desired)
1 ounce Original Ranch dressing mix
1/2 C. melted butter or margarine
3 tsp. white vinegar
6 T. Crystal Louisiana Hot Pepper sauce
1 egg, beaten
Flour
Cooking Oil
Preheat oven to 350º F. Melt butter over low heat, add
dressing mix, vinegar, and hot sauce, mixing well. Dip
wings in egg, then dredge in flour. Brown in oil over
medium heat, then transfer to 13" X 9" baking pan.
Brush both sides of each wing with sauce, bake for
50-60 minutes.
These are good plain, or dipped in prepared ranch dressing.
I like them the second way better, with a big baked potato
and some fresh green beans...
