This thing is awesome! I can get up to 19mph (20mph rating) no peddling, 17.5 in a headwind. :)

This 400w 36V motor picks up slower in the start, but easily accelerates at about 8mph and above.

My steel schwinn weighs 35 lbs, Kit 36, I am 165, and my bag on my back 20. So that is 256 lbs and still pulling the load.

Some people were saying that it would be a problem free peddling the bike when the batteries died. Well, I had no problem on flat surfaces - still getting up to 14mph with easy steady peddling!

I converted this old schwinn with mountain bike rims and tires, some old hooptie that I "borrowed" and never returned when I was at UC Davis in 1990. I bet this kit would work well if I cleaned and lubed most of my bike parts.

I'm having fun..only ran 15 miles then recharged the batteries...I'll try to see if I can get past the 20 mile range it is rated.

    This is a blast! :D
