[SIZE= 12px]We are a Recreational Recumbent Cycling Club, whose main purpose is to help educate others about the various recumbent cycles and simply enjoy the FUN of riding them!
Out of a goal to meet others and discuss unique issues related to these oddly different cycles, our local club began to expand. New members began to join outside our immediate locale and we soon realized a need for others to be able to connect with one-another in their own local regions, just as we had done in East Tennessee!
Out of that awareness, Recumbent Riders International (RRI) was formed as a common gathering place for Recumbent Riders from all over the world. It's a place we would hope you will be able to find others to share your interests and/or curiosity in RECUMBENTS with, as well as locate a few new riding partners along the way. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif
We recognize & appreciate the benefits of large discussion boards (i.e. higher message traffic, more knowledge, experienced riders, etc), but we really value the ‘small-town feeling’ of meeting new friends in your own area and meeting up to ride occasionally for the simple reason of just having FUN! Since it's the key element for how long you’ll continue to participate in something. That’s simply what we’re all about.
As our small group began to form, we scheduled a few easy rides and found out just how much we enjoyed each other’s company and the camaraderie of it all. Some went on to ride together in organized events in the area, and some enjoyed introducing others to what a Recumbent was at local various events in the area, and still others participated in multi-day tours from time to time. To us, it’s all about having fun and sharing with others what Recumbents are about: Namely, comfort, fun and the excitement of feeling like a kid again!
We hope to always offer: A place where you can find out about others, converse with them, and perhaps meet-up for local rides in your own area. We offer FREE, Individual Forums & Event Calendars for Countries, States, Cities, and/or various Regions around the world.
Anyway, I’d like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to check-us-out sometime, as we hope you would find your time spent there beneficial. We’re always OPEN to questions and suggestions from everyone, so feel free to speak up and by all means CHIME-IN as often as you want in the forums there.[/SIZE]
