Reducing reach on STI shifters/brakes

Does anyone have any suggestions as to reducing the reach on Ultegra STI's? I've heard of shimming them (like the new women's Ultegra), but don't know how or where to attach the shims.

Any idea what happened to Wylder?

I'm also looking for good links about making shims myself.
