Most people here don't find stationary bikes anywhere near as fun as moving ones, so don't expect too much.
On top of that, stationary bikes have better conditions in just about every perspective:
- fixed chain lines
- Chunky and heavy design is an advantage, not a punishment
- no road impact
- lead sheltered lives indoors, away from weather and road grime

I've seen a fair amount of worn out grips and saddles, a chain or two, maybe a pedal and possibly a worn out/broken lever/knob for saddle/bar adjustment. Not saying other failures can't happen, but they're not common.

The reebok has been the target of a recall, see: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08340.html
and http://corporate.reebok.com/en/local/meta/product_recalls/default.asp

Not that 5 out of 20 000 is a staggering amount, but nice to know.
It's also a belt drive. Although belts are supposed to last near indefinitely on bicycles, a replacement chain will be ever so much easier to source and install.

To me, the Star Trac looks llike a stronger option - although I'd rather spend the money on a winter/rain bike and take to the roads instead.

If you're a rookie rider, keep in mind that a lot is "lost in translation" when you move from a stationary bike to the road. Don't expect to be able to ride with the fast crowd just b/c you've had a good winter on the trainer.
