I am about to try and replace my gear cables. Never done the outers before.

I have bought a set of Clark Teflon. They contain small O rings. Where
do these go? Cannot see them on my current set.

Are they in groups of 3? They could be anti-cable-slap 'donuts'. Not mandatory, but if you want to, put them halfway down/along the cable to stop the cable rubbing/slapping on the duco. If not, and they fit precisely into the ferrule I.D., then thread them over the inner cable before you put the ferrule on the outer cable. Stops crud getting into your cable, you see.
