I recently bought a set of Mirage shifters from what I think is the
place you're talking about (probikekit.com?) for about $80 for a
project I'm working on. The levers didn't come in a retail box, but
they were carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. A Campy cable set was
included in its retail box. They shipped real quick. I like the look
of the black plastic levers too. Kinda stealthy looking. As far as I
can see, they're the only thing that's different between Mirage,
Veloce, and Centaur. I think that's a hell of a deal, even including
shipping.

1. How difficult is it to replace the body on the left Ergo lever?
Any special tools required? There is one part I am not sure how to

A small punch and the replacement is not hard at all. a 4mm allen, a
punch, some needle nose pliers is all you need.

the broken body moves things away from each other. Repair it and I'm
sure it will be OK.

For a little over the price of the Ergo body replacement part i would
get a set of Xenon Ergo's. You can use the Ergo body and rubbers
and keep the rest for spare parts.

Left ERGO body is $45, doubt you can get a Xenon leverset for that,
even if ya find one. PLUS the innards of Xenon is much different from
all the ERGO above it.

Thanks for the fine answers and websites with instructions. I used a
nail pnuch and hammer to get the brake lever pin out last night.
Pretty easy. I ordered the left Ergo body from my local shop today.
$24 plus tax from QBP. It was handy having the Branford Bike web pages
printed out so I could easily tell them which part number I needed.
The QBP catalog lists all of the Campagnolo Ergo parts for all the
levers back to 1999. After I get this lever back together I'll take
apart the right 1998 lever to see if its spring carrier is broken and
the G springs need replacing. Local shop can order those parts from
QBP.
