Ride-To-Work-Day bicycle maintenance workshop (Canberra)

I've (been) volunteered to run a pre-Ride-to-Work-Day bicycle
maintenance workshop for the benefit of my colleagues in Woden on
Sunday. Not sure how many people are inclined to turn up, but there's
been a fair amount of interest so far (4 or 5 people), and the ad was
only posted a couple of hours ago.

If you've twirled a spanner on a bicycle before and can help instruct
people in the likes of chain lubing and tyre changing, I could use a
couple of people to help out. It'll be in Woden town centre (Corinna
St), from 10am-1pm on Sunday (October 7).

I haven't asked permission from the building owner yet, but if they
object we can always run it in one of the nearby carparks. (Or maybe
I'll just not ask permission and beg forgiveness if challenged!)

If you can help, or if you want to participate, please feel free to
fire me off an e-mail at this address:

[email protected]

Thanks!

Well, I'd judge it as a success. 4 out of the 5 people who said they
would be coming turned up, and we disassembled and re-greased a couple
of sets of wheel and bottom-bracket bearings (well, except for the
bottom bracket that turned out to have a cartridge bearing in it after
all).

We'll pimp the event around work for a couple of weeks, and if there's
sufficient interest I'll run another one the weekend after next. (The
neat part is that it can be combined with a trip to the Rotary Sunday
Markets, just up the block).
