Thinking of getting a new saddle for my Cannondale R2000 to replace the squeaky poggio (Fizik) Am thinking Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow or similar.

May use the Poggio on my Mountain bike to replace horrible Bontrager (on Trek 4900 2002) ... are there any differences between road and Mountain bike saddles?

MTB saddles are usually a little better padded due to the rigours of the trials. But its primarily targeted at shorter rides.

Heavy padding may not work well on longer rides on the road. At least thats for me. Would depend very much on the individual's preference. I have seen some people using MTB saddles like Koobi's and the Fi:zik Gobi on road bikes with great success, so its best you try it out and give it a little assessment.

If it keeps your butt happy, then its a good saddle I guess. ;)

I like the specialized Milano on my Sirrus...that thing is comfy!!!
