Road Bike Repair DVD? Which Bike tools?

Hello,

I have a Giant 2001 OCR1 road bike. Stock parts.

I am tired of paying $50 for adjustments...

The bike has a triple, but you can never hit the lowest gear
-needs adjusting. There is something going on inside the
crank -bearing going bad? Also I have yet to degrease/grease
the chain.... and I don't know what other preventive maint
type things I should be doing.

Can anyone recommend a DVD repair video for new road
bicyles, as well as essential tools that I should have?

I am thinking I need a crank puller, chain cleaner, etc...
please give me your wisdom
