Road Ghetto Tubeless

Has anyone experimented with running tubeless Hutchinsons on a regular
rim using a cut innertube for the sealing rimstrip. I have had good
luck with this 'ghetto' setup on my mtn bike. Stan's has come out with
a valve and their tape technique for sealing a regular rim. I was just
wondering if anyone is tinkering around using a 24" or 26" tube as the
rimstrip? My biggest concern as it was on the mtn bike setup was if
the bead was going to seat well with a tube between the tire and the
rim. It works great w/ a mtn bike tire (non UST) at much lower
pressures. It seems like it should work OK w/ a road tire at 100psi.
TIA.
