Road Riding and Snowshoe, WV

Has anybody tried any road riding around snowshoe west virginia? I will be going there during the big mountain biking event but I don't mountain bike. I am thinking about climbing the 4 mile road up to the top. Anyone have any experiences? Are there any good bike shops for roadies at snowshoe?

No info, but try posting this over at epicski.com in their "off season sports". Lots of folks there ski at Snowshoe....

WV used to have an awesome RR series which were long and mountainous on great roads through the middle of nowhere back in the late 90's. I remember doing one based at snowshoe ski resort... there are plenty of great roads there, but I can't give any specifics. I can't see how you will have any problems, just pick a road and go, most of them are ideal for road riding.
