I ride a 56 roadie so would it be the same size on a cross? Specialized Tarmac 56.5 ( sloping top tube) to a Fuji cross.

Probably, not ...

On a traditional CX bike, the bottom bracket is higher (less drop) ...

Even if that isn't the case, the larger tire size generally means that the bike's standover height will be greater ...

In the past, prior to sloping top tubes, the recommendation was to choose a CX frame whose seat tube was 2-to-3 cm smaller than the preferred Road frame size for the rider.

With a frame with a sloping top tube, you should size the frame according to the VIRTUAL top tube length ...

Of course, stem length + handlebar reach should eventually be factored into your decision OR used to adjust the fit.
