I've got some good suggestions on another thread for routes to Hebden
Bridge. Anyone know the area from there to Ramsbottom?

Know the area and cycle it frequently. The most direct would be,
Todmorden then Bacup via Sharneyford, big hill used to feature in the
milk race sometimes. Then Rawtenstall and on to Ramsbottom via Edenfield
rather than the dual carriageway.

Alternatively you could go via Mytholmroyd and Crag Vale to Blackstone
Edge then Littleborough, Rochdale, Bury, and up to Ramsbottom.

Or from Todmorden to Burnley (via Cliviger, low level route, or the Long
Causeway, steepish climb to get up to it), Accrington, Haslingden,
Helmshore and along through Holcombe and down Rammy Rake, which is an
annual hill climb in October, to Ramsbottom Centre.

Unfortunately there arn't very many alternatives to A roads around here
so its almost inevitable that you'll get busy bits.
