Sunday was The Agassiz, and this was now Tuesday. We'd been hiking on
Monday, so our legs were somewhat tired. Not to mention that it was
colder, wetter and windier than it had been. Typical of our vacations. I
think the actual temperature was in the low 40's with a very very strong
wind outta the north.
We start out from the gates to the access road to the Dam, as in "Seven
Sisters Hydro Electric Generating Station Dam". We ride past the turbine
house, which is really humming, and up onto the levy. Our plan is to
ride along the levy as far as we want to. The legs just seem to take
**forever** to get warmed up. (They musta been remembering that ice cold
bath they took a couple of days before).
The surface of the levy is packed sand/gravel/dirt/clay and somewhat
soft from the rain. Not fast spinning, at least not for us. We trudge
along. We see a ground hog. Then we see some emptied out Canada Goose
Eggs. There has obviously been a marauder! We get down to the far end of
the levy when it is snack time (my down fall has always been, continues
to be, and always will be, snack time!)

We decide to turn around after about 5km. Then down at the side of a
pond we saw a Momma Weasel carrying one of her young to a new location.
Could she be the egg marauder??? Did I mention it was cold???

This place was built on the Winnipeg River in the early 1930's so as to
supply electricity to Winnipeg. It is so named for the Seven Sets of
falls that existed before it was built.
As we arrived back at the car the wind started to die down and the Sun
came out! Grrrrrrrr... Once again, typical!
We didn't ride the full length route that we had planned, but this was a
nice little spin to loosen up our legs. Riding in bad conditions is
better than not riding at all is our motto.
Had we managed to ride the full route Linda was looking forward to
riding something that she'd never ridden on before (I was dubious to say
the least)
